Zee TV's "Ek Tha Raja Ek Thi Rani" will soon take a generation leap, and before the plot moves ahead several years, the makers have stored an interesting sequence for its viewers wherein Gayatri (Drashti Dhami) will be seen fighting with a sword and performing some daredevil stunts.
It has been reported that in the upcoming episodes of the period love-drama, Drashti will stun her fans with a warrior look. She will fight against evil Kaal (Chetan Hansraj) and Badi Rani Maa and avenge the death of her husband Ranaji (Siddhant Karnick). Thereafter, Gayatri will give birth to a daughter and the sequence will also see her charging the enemies with the child on her back.
The nail-biting action sequence will mark the end of Drashti's journey on the show as after the leap, "Ek Tha Raja Ek Thi Rani" will essentially revolve around Gayatri and Ranaji's children.
"I'm kicked that my parting shot on Ek Tha Raja Ek Thi Rani is a fiery one. The scene has me engaging in a mortal combat with the ferocious Kaal, and it is a fight to the finish. She is in a do-or-die zone, locking horns with the enemy with her child on her back. Needless to say, it was a task to manage the fight scene with a child on my back. It was difficult, but I loved doing it. In this role of Gayatri, I have had the opportunity to enact a number of interesting avatars. I hope viewers will like this avatar too," Drashti told India Today.
While Drashti has decided to quit the show as she doesn't want to play the role of a mother at this stage of her career, the buzz is that the makers may bring the actress back as a grown-up child of Gayatri and Ranaji.
"The plot will be the same of show taking a leap and introducing the child of Gayatri and Ranaji. Though Siddhant will definitely not be seen post the leap, there are high chances of Drashti Dhami playing the grown up child of Gayatri and Ranaji. Their child will be lookalike of Gayatri who will then teach a big lesson to Badi Rani Maa," a source told India Forums.
