Eid al-fitr marks the end of the sacred month of Ramadan.

With the crescent moon sighting on Tuesday, Muslim devotees in different parts of the world are celebrating Eid al-Fitr, which marks the end of the sacred one month of Ramadan fasting. Eid is celebrated on July 6 in Saudi Arabia, the U.S., U.K., Australia and the UAE.

Even though the festival is celebrated in Kerala on Wednesday, it will be observed in other parts of India, as well as in Bangladesh, Malawi and others on July 7.

Many celebrities of the Malayalam and Tamil entertainment industries have wished their fans the greetings of the festival. Interestingly, superstar Mohanlal has shared his picture in which he is seen wearing the traditional Muslim attire and wrote "Eid Mubarak...May the divine spirit of Ramadan fill your life with happiness, peace and prosperity [sic]" on his Facebook page.
