The Muslim community around the world is celebrating Eid al-Adha, also known as Bakr Eid or Bakrid.
Although the "feast of sacrifice" is being celebrated on 24 September globally, most states in India will celebrate the festival a day later (25 September).
Muslim devotees celebrate Eid al-Adha by offering prayers and slaughtering animals.
This is the second most important Muslim festival, which is observed on the 10th day of Dhu al-Hijjah -- the 12th month in the Islamic calendar.
Several celebrities and politicians have wished people on social media. Even Bollywood celebs have wished 'Eid Mubarak' on social media.
