Technology startup firm Metis Learning Solutions has launched 'Eddy', India's first dedicated Android tablet for kids.
The tablet is targeted at children belonging to the age groups 2 to 10. Eddy sports an ophthalmologist approved 7.0-inch IPS screen with 1024x600p resolutions and runs on Android v4.2 Jelly Bean OS.
Inside, it packs 1.6-GHz ARM Cortex A7 dual-core CPU, 1GB DDR3 RAM, 8GB inbuilt memory (expandable upto 32GB), 2.0-megapixel main camera, VGA camera on the front and a 3200 mAh battery.
A notable feature of the tablet is that it comes pre-loaded with more than 150 interactive educational apps, with comprehensive curriculum covering mathematics, language, science, art and creativity.
Parents can monitor kids' activities on the tablet via Time Management. They can set-up time-table, pick subjects for kids and also pre-set time to restrict the number hours of usage. Eddy also boasts a safe web browser which automatically restricts website pages having in-appropriate contents.
The Eddy tablet has been made available on the company's official website and Amazon India for ₹9,999.
