From singing to just being a really cool dude, is there anything Ed Sheeran cannot do? He has recently joined Kurt Sutter's medieval drama "The Bastard Executioner" as a recurring cast member and a really villainous recurring character at that.
Sheeran has worked with Sutter when he recorded "Make It Rain" for the penultimate episode of the latter's last FX series "Sons of Anarchy". According to The Hollywood Reporter, Sheeran will play the role of Sir Cormac, an ambitious and deadly protégé of a high-ranking church elder.
The bloody series, which Sutter has been promoting left and right via his social media accounts, will also feature his wife Katey Sagal (Gemma from "Sons of Anarchy"), Stephen Moyer of "True Blood" fame and a comparatively newcomer, Australian actor Lee Jones.
In a recent Instagram post, Sutter shared the first look of Lee as the titular "Bastard Executioner" aka Wilkin Brattle.
Brattle is a knight who served King Edward I, but is broken by the continuous wars and decides to lay his weapon down for ever, until fate forces him to pick up the executioner's sword.
Sutter expressed his gratitude at having Lee as the lead for his FX series "The Bastard Executioner" with the caption: So grateful to have this bloody mother***er be number one on our call-sheet. @theleejones #TBX".
