Women suffer from unbearable cramps and pains every month and mostly there is nothing for them to look up to ease those pains. However, Foria, a company which produces products using cannabis, of late came up with marijuana-infused tampons that would help women in relieving the discomfort they face.

"This plant medicine has a long, cross cultural history of use as a natural aide in easing symptoms associated with menstruation," the company website foriapleasure.com stated.

These tampons comprise of a combination of THC oil, cocoa butter and cannabinoids or CBD oil isolate from hemp, which is organically grown. The company found that the cannabinoids could ease pain caused by the cramps during the menstrual cycle.

The medication present in the tampon will be absorbed by the vaginal walls, which will dilute in the bloodstream and provide instant relief by relaxing the uterine muscles.

However, approval by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is still due as no proper research supporting the claim of the company regarding these cannabis-tampons has been released yet.

A woman told broadly.vice.com that her cramps disappeared in 20 minutes.

A pack of 4 marijuana tampons cost $44, according to the company website. Though these tampons are yet to undergo clinical trials, many women are appreciating its effectiveness, according to various news reports.

"I was able to prevent the worsening pain and cramping and piercing pains in my vaginal canal," a woman named Megan told independent.co.uk.

The outlets of this firm are presently located only in California and Colorado. Letter by a medic or a medical marijuana card will be required in order to purchase these cannabis tampons.
