Three earthquakes hit India's north-eastern region on Thursday night and Friday morning, an official said.
"A moderate intensity quake measuring 5.6 on the Richter Scale and two low intensity tremors both measuring 4.3 on the Richter Scale shook north-eastern states and neighbouring Myanmar and Bangladesh," a meteorological department official said in Agartala.
"The first quake occurred at 6:14pm and the second quake took place at 10:45pm on Thursday. The third tremor happened at 4:15am on Friday," he added.
Disaster management control rooms of Tripura and Mizoram governments said there was no report of casualties or damage to property.
The met official said the epicentre of all the three quakes were Mizoram-Myanmar border. "The tremors were also felt in southern Assam, bordering regions of Bangladesh and Myanmar," the official added.
India's north-eastern region is considered the sixth major earthquake-prone belt (zone five) in the world.
