With the biggest gaming expo just a couple of days away from launch, avid video game fans are eagerly waiting for a sneak peek at the most-promising offerings at the expo. We bring you the top-five most-anticipated titles for the year as EA games, Microsoft, Sony and Nintendo battle it out at the Electronic Entertainment Expo aka E3 in Los Angeles from June 13 - 15.
Here's a quick look at the most-popular titles from the likes of biggest game publishers in the market, including Ubisoft, Activision and Bethesda:
Far Cry 5
Ubisoft's sixth iteration in the Far Cry series, Far Cry 5, will be placed in the American setting and the game world will mostly feature the state of Montana.
Each of the newly released teaser videos confirm the game has indeed been shot in the suburbs of rural America, contrary to earlier rumours suggesting a Wild West setting for the game. Consequently, it seems Ubisoft is not creating a direct competition for Rockstar Games' upcoming action-RPG game 'Red Dead Redemption 2', but something different and modern than its prequel 'Far Cry: Primal'.

Coming to the in-game mechanics, avid gamers would be thrilled with the prospect of flying airplanes and indulging in aerial combat in Far Cry 5. It should come as a drastic promotion from using jeeps and airboats in Far Cry 2 to hang gliders and elephants in Far Cry 4.
There are very sparse details about the protagonist and the key plot in the game. However, it is clear that the gameplay revolves around a religious cult theme akin to 'The Last Supper' as depicted in the Far Cry 5 official artwork.
Far Cry 5 is expected to release on multiple gaming platforms including Xbox One, PS4 and PC in Feb 2018.

The next iteration in the Assassin's Creed franchise is expected to be a prequel to Assassin's Creed Syndicate. The game will be set in ancient Egypt with the title 'Assassin's Creed Origins.' The game is tipped for October release at a retail price of Rs.4,000 in India, following its E3 launch.
The game's protagonist Bayek will be seen raiding Egyptian tombs and performing underwater swimming, among other skill-building activities, in his quest to accomplish the key mission objectives in the game.
The game is reportedly optimised to run at 4K resolutions without compromising frame rate performance on Microsoft's new gaming console, the Xbox Scorpio.
God of War
Sony's PS4 exclusive God of War is all set to be showcased at the E3 press conference on June 13. In the new edition of the game, Kratos will finally be seen with his son as they work together in rekindling their relationship "for a new beginning."
Kratos' son Atreus will be seen hunting for the first time as he needs to prove his worth in the battles that lie ahead. Quite interestingly, the game is touted to be non-linear and offer players the choice to play as the main character Krato or switch to Atreus for a whole new perspective in the game.
The latest instalment in the God of War franchise is expected to be a more narration-based game, besides featuring the usual gameplay elements such as gore, sweat and blood. The game is expected to release sometime in late 2017 or early 2018.
Need For Speed: Payback
Electronic Arts' latest addition to the Need For Speed franchise brings a pre-dominant Fast and Furious vibe to it, as a racing group embarks on the mission to take down a mafia outfit called 'The House'. Also expect some high-octane races, hot-pursuits and heists in Grand Theft Auto (GTA) style.
Players will now enjoy the privilege of switching between three character roles akin to GTA 5. Well, we really did not expect EA games to bring such a massive change into its pre-dominantly racing franchise.
It is not yet known if each of these three characters comes with special perks and skillsets as in the case of GTA 5's Michael, Trevor and Franklin. Avid racing enthusiasts and car modders will surely enjoy the highly-customisable game set in an open-world.
NFS: Payback is all set to release sometime in November 2017.
