Actor-turned-producer Vishnu Manchu, who is gearing up to release "Dynamite", will reportedly play a superhero in his next movie, which will be directed by Hanuman Chowdary.
The genre of superhero films is not new to Indian cinema as Bollywood has already produced some films such "Krrish", "Ra.One" and "Mr X".
Reports suggest that the director has already prepared a script and narrated the same to Vishnu Manchu, who has given his consent to play the lead in the film. This yet-to-be announced film is said to be the first superhero film in Telugu.
"Vishnu is a big fan of super hero films and has been wanting to introduce that genre in Tollywood. He loved the script narrated by director Hanuman Chowdary and decided to take the plunge. It is going to be one-of-its-kind film in Telugu cinema," The Times of India quoted a source close to the actor as saying.
The makers are said to have roped in Regina Cassandra for the female lead. "The filmmakers will zero in on the look feel of Vishnu's character in a couple of days. Deliberations about the character's look have been going on for a while now. Vishnu will be bulking up a lot for the role," the source added.
Vishnu Manchu is currently working on "Dynamite", which is directed by Deva Katta and produced under his home banner, 24 Frames Factory. He will be seen romancing Pranitha Subhash in the film, which is expected to clear the censor formalities and be released in theatres across the globe on 3 July.
The actor has another movie, titled "Kannappa Katha", is lined up for shooting. Besides acting, he is also producing this film in collaboration with a Hollywood production. The pre-production work of the film, which is scripted and directed by Tanikella Bharani, has already started.
