Dwayne Johnson, who is also known as the Rock, is well alive and kicking. The 41-year-old actor and former WWE wrestler became the latest victim of Twitter death hoax with rumors of his death circulating on social media.
The hoaxers claimed that Johnson died in New Zealand after he met with an accident.
The reports of the actor's death started circulating online after Global Associated News, known for spreading false news of celebrities' deaths, reported it.
"Actor Dwayne Johnson died while filming a movie in New Zealand early this morning - April 7, 2014," according to the report.
"Preliminary reports from New Zealand Police officials indicate that the actor fell from more than 60 feet to his death on the Kauri Cliffs while on set. Specific details are not yet available. The accident occurred at approximately 4:30 am."
Even a fake Facebook page title "R.I.P. Dwayne Johnson" was created which posted a message, "At about 11 am ET on Wednesday (9 April 2014), our beloved actor Dwayne Johnson passed away. Dwayne Johnson was born on 2 May 1972 in Hayward. He will be missed, but not forgotten. Please show your sympathy and condolences by commenting on and liking this page," according to mediamass.com.
Several Johnson fans believed the news and posted condolence messages on social networking sites Facebook and Twitter.
But much to the disappointment of the hoaxers, the actor is alive and is in New Orleans. The actor is also active on Twitter and has been constantly tweeting.
On Thursday, he even posted his photo on twitter with a message "Throwin' around some rubber biscuits before headin' to set."

Also, his rep confirmed that the Rock is alive and well.
"He joins the long list of celebrities who have been victimised by this hoax. He's still alive and well, stop believing what you see."
