The entire nation celebrated Dussehra that marks the victory of good over evil by burning effigies of the ten-headed king Ravana and exchanging sweets.
The festival is also known as Vijaya Dashami, Dasara or Dashain in different places. This year, Dussehra was celebrated on 3 October.
It is believed that on this day, Lord Rama killed the king of demons Ravana and rescued Sita. Dussehra also marks the end of the auspicious nine-day festival called Navratri.
In this festive occasion, many Bollywood celebrities too hoped for love, happiness, peace and prosperity across the world and wished the nation to choose good over evil.
The B-town stars, including Amitabh Bachchan, Abhishek Bachchan, Karan Johar, Preity Zinta, Dia Mirza, Anupam Kher, Sidharth Malhotra, Sonakshi Sinha, Shraddha Kapoor, Riteish Deshmukh and others took to the micro-blogging site Twitter to wish fans and family on this special occasion.
