The young star, Dulquer Salmaan, who enjoys a huge fan following in Kerala and Tamil Nadu, is all set to play a lead role in a Bollywood director's upcoming movie. The actor was last seen in a cameo appearance in the Malayalam movie Annmaria Kalippilaanu.
No, the actor will not make a Bollywood debut, Salmaan has been roped in by the Wazir director Bejoy Nambiar for a Malayalam film project instead.
The upcoming Dulquer-starrer is expected to go on floors in October after the actor wraps up his shooting of the movie Jomonte Suvisheshangal. The yet-to-be titled film will be bankrolled by Bejoy under his home production banner Getaway films in association with Abaam films. The makers are yet to reveal other cast and crew members of the movie. The Malayalam film is expected to be on based a different subject, something the Kerala audience is not familiar with.
David director Bejoy earlier helmed a Malayalam short film named Rahu in 2008 and a silent short film titled Reflections, starring Mohanlal.
Meanwhile, veteran filmmaker Sathyan Anthikad's family entertainer Jomonte Suvisheshangal is expected to hit the screens as a Christmas release this year. Dulquer plays the role of a Thrissur native Jomon, in the movie, the film also stars Mukesh, Anupama Parameshwaran, Aishwarya Rajesh and Manobala in significant roles. The Kammatipaadam actor also has to finish the shooting of Amal Neerad's untitled movie in the US soon. He will also be associating with actor Salaam Bukhari in his debut directorial venture that is said to go on floors in January or February 2017.
