The first edition of North American Film Award (NAFA) is scheduled to take place at Tilles Performing Arts Centre in New York at 5 p.m. on Sunday, July 24. Young superstar Dulquer Salmaan's blockbuster Malayalam movie "Charlie" has bagged the highest number of awards followed by Prithviraj Sukumaran's "Ennu Ninte Moideen" for the first season of the U.S. show presented by Freedia Entertainment.
While Dulquer will bag the best actor award for his performance in "Charlie," his co-star Parvathy will receive the best actress award for the movies "Charlie" and "Ennu Ninte Moideen." Martin Prakkat has been selected as the best director for the Dulquer and Parvathy-starrer, which had bagged as many as eight Kerala State Film Awards in 2015.
The other winners of the NAFA include Vijay Yesudas, Divya S Menon (playback singers), Gopi Sunder (music director), Joju George (supporting actor), Jomon T John (cinematographer), Martin Prakkat and Unni R (script writers).
NAFA will also see the presence of Kunchacko Boban, Ann Augustine, Ramya Nambeeshan, Bhavana, Ramesh Pisharody, Kalabhavan Navas, and Job Kurien, among many others. The VVIP and VIP ticket for the award show cost $250 and $100, respectively, and the rate of general tickets are $75 and $50. The award show will be aired on Flowers TV soon.
"Freedia Entertainment presents the first North American Malayalam Film Awards (NAFA) which takes place this 24th at the New York Tilles Performing Arts Center . All of us from the Charlie cast and crew will be present. See you all there [sic]," Dulquer posted on Facebook and shared a video from New York welcoming his fans to the award show.
