Amy Duggar was not in attendance at her cousin Jinger Duggar's wedding to Jeremy Vuolo on Saturday, and it has sparked rumours of a family feud. But it has now been revealed that Amy missed out on her cousin's wedding because she had something else scheduled on the same day.
"I was absolutely invited. I love my family!" she told Entertainment Tonight. "There is no rift between me and my cousins at all. It was just wrong timing. We already had something scheduled," she explained.
Reportedly, Amy and her husband Dillon King had planned a trip to Las Vegas to attend the 2017 SEMA Show, a trade show specializing in automotive products, and they were unable to cancel their flights. "This was planned a year in advance, so there was no way I could let my husband go without me. I let my family know I loved them and that I couldn't make it."
Amy's absence from the ceremony had sparked speculation that she was not invited and that things weren't all that good between the cousins following Amy's criticism of Josh Duggar and his cheating scandal.
Jinger and her new husband announced the news of their wedding on their website over the weekend, saying they were excited to finally live together. "YES! We are married!" a statement on their website read. "We are so thankful to God, our parents and our wonderful families and friends for celebrating this day with us and for helping us arrive at this moment in time. We love that we now are beginning our lives together as one, before God."
Jinger's wedding ceremony will be featured in the November 15 episode of Counting On, which will air at 8 p.m. ET on TLC.
