Italian sports bike maker Ducati launched XDiavel power cruiser motorcycle in India at Rs. 15.87 lakh, ex-showroom, Delhi. The XDiavel, Ducati's take on the modern cruiser motorcycles, will be sold in standard and S (Rs. 18.47 lakh) variants.
The company globally unveiled XDiavel at 2015 EICMA show in Milan, Italy. The Bologna-based manufacturer, known for its motorcycles, projected in red, opted for pitch black shade to showcase XDiavel. The motorcycle is one of the best looking models. Ducati claims the XDiavel brings together two worlds -- the cruiser attributes of low speeds, relaxed riding and long journeys and the Ducati's Italian style, engineering and performance.
The XDiavel is powered by a Testastretta DVT 1262cc, V-twin engine that makes 156hp at 9,500rpm and 129Nm maximum torque at 5000rpm. The engine is mated to 6-speed transmission with slipper clutch. Ducati claims this engine propels XDucati to breach 100kmph speed in just 2.5 seconds. The motorcycle weighs 220kg and comes with a wheelbase of 1615mm.
The XDiavel comes with Ducati Power Launch (DPL) that regulates the throttle input and the traction level depending on the selected settings. The DPL switches off by itself when the bike exceeds 120kmph or once the third gear is engaged. The motorcycle also boasts of Bosch Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU), together with Ducati Traction Control (DTC), riding modes, Bosch cornering ABS and cruise control.
The motorcycle comes with 3.5-inch TFT colour display with split screens. The XDiavel is the first motorcycle from Ducati to feature a belt final drive. The system makes the engine functioning silent, reliable and easier to maintain than chain final drives. Ducati XDiavel also comes with an electronic key that lets the rider to switch on the control board and engine.
