Italian motorcycle manufacturer Ducati's Indian subsidiary has reduced the prices of its Scrambler range of motorcycles by Rs 90,000. The price cut has been initiated to celebrate the brand's 90th anniversary. Ducati brand was found in 1926.
The 90th anniversary special offer is valid on all four variants in the Scrambler range that include Icon, Classic, Urban Enduro and Full Throttle, until December 31. As per the new pricing, Scrambler Icon (Red) is available at Rs 6,07,000 (ex-showroom Delhi), while the Scrambler Classic, Urban Enduro and Full Throttle are available at Rs 7,28,000, ex-showroom Delhi.
Ducati had recently launched finance schemes in partnership with Yes Bank and the new offer is valid on these purchases. Hence, Ducati customers can avail the offer for periods up to seven years, a company statement said. The customers will also benefit with a special-scheme where up to three EMI payments will be reduced by Ducati.
"In little less than two years, we have achieved great growth and our entire range has been very well received by the Indian market. We would like to thank our Ducatisti and Desmo Owners Clubs for making this a very special year for us," said Ravi Avalur, Managing Director of Ducati India.
Recent reports also indicate that after two years of honeymoon period, Ducati India is planning to widen its India operations by setting up a manufacturing unit near Delhi. Ducati India currently imports its motorcycle range from Thailand as Completely Built Units (CBU).
The company is looking for 100 acres of land to set up a manufacturing unit at Greater Noida in Uttar Pradesh. Representatives of the company have reportedly met senior officials of the Greater Noida Industrial Development Authority (GNIDA). Local assembly or production will give tax reduction and make Ducati motorcycles more affordable in India.
