Italian sports bike maker Ducati will launch the XDiavel power cruiser motorcycle in India on Sept. 15. The XDiavel, Ducati's take on the modern cruiser motorcycles, will be brought to India as CBU units from the company's Thailand plant.
Ducati globally unveiled the XDiavel at 2015 EICMA show in Milan, Italy. The Bologna-based manufacturer, known for its motorcycles projected in red, has taken a different route for the unveiling of the XDiavel, which is in pitch black shade. Ducati claims the XDiavel brings together two worlds -- the cruiser attributes of low speeds, relaxed riding and long journeys and the Ducati's Italian style, engineering and performance.
The XDiavel is powered by a Testastretta DVT 1262cc, V-twin engine that makes 156hp at 9,500rpm and 129Nm maximum torque at 5000rpm. The engine is mated to 6-speed transmission with slipper clutch. The motorcycle weighs 220kg and comes with a wheelbase of 1615mm.
The motorcycle also flaunts 3.5-inch TFT colour display, Bosch Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU), together with Ducati Traction Control (DTC), riding modes, Bosch cornering ABS and cruise control. The XDiavel is also packed with launch control system christened as Ducati Power Launch (DPL).
The XDiavel is expected to cost Rs. 16.5 lakh, ex-showroom. Reports suggest Ducati India has already started the booking process for the power cruiser for a down payment of Rs. 1 lakh.
