Ducati re-entered India in March 2015 with its largest showroom in the world in Delhi. The Indian portfolio of the Italian superbike manufacturer received positive response from biking enthusiasts.
The company is planning to launch newer motorcycles in India. The will be the Multistrada adventure sport motorcycle, which will be launching in December 2015, reports shifting-gear.com. The report indicates the standard model as well as the 'S' variant will enter India with an expected price ranging from Rs 18 to 20 lakh, on-road.
The 2015 Multistrada comes with larger air vents and new headlamps, all LED units with a cornering function. At the heart is the Testastretta 1198cc V-twin engine that features Desmodromic valve timing, with dual spark ignition that develops 160bhp at 9500rpm, up 10bhp from its predecessor.
The motorcycle will feature electronic gizmos like Bosch MSC cornering ABS, Ducati Skyhook suspension (DSS), Cruise control, keyless ignition, Ducati Traction Control (DTC), Ducati Wheelie Control (DWC) and Ducati multimedia system. The adventure sport motorcycle will also come with all-new chassis equipped with an Inertial Measurement Unit.
The current Ducati India line-up includes the Diavel family - Diavel, Diavel Carbon, Diavel Titanium, Hypermotard family- Hypermotard, Hyperstrada, Monster family – 821 Dark, 821, 1200, 1200 S, 1200 S Stripe and the superbike family that include 899 Panigale, 1299 Panigale, 1299 Panigale S and Panigale R. With the launch of Multistrada, Ducati India will also enter the adventure motorcycle segment in the country.
