Home-grown handset maker Lava has rolled out its latest offering in the Xolo series, dubbed Lava Xolo A700, with a price tag of ₹9,999.
Online retailer Flipkart has listed the device on its website mentioning the dispatch time as six to eight days. The dual SIM smartphone Lava Xolo A700 sports a 4.5-inch IPS LCD display with a 960x540 pixel resolution and is powered by 1GHz dual-core MediaTek MT6577 processor. The device runs on Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich and packs a battery of 1,700mAh that promises six hours of talk time on 2G and three hours of talk time on 3G .The device measures 136 x 68.5 x 9.1 mm and weighs 115 grams.
The smartphone houses 512MB of RAM along with a 4GB of built-in storage which is expandable up to 32GB with micro SD card. It comes with a 5-megapixel auto focus rear camera and a VGA front camera. On the connectivity front, the device packs 3G, WIFI 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth v2.1 and GPS. The device is expected to compete with the lately launched Karbonn A21and Micromax's Canvas 2 A110. The Lava Xolo A700 dual SIM smartphone allows its users only to have 3G+2G connectivity which might seen as a downside.
Micromax's Canvas 2 A110 comes with a 4.3-inch AMOLED capacitive touchscreen display with a resolution of 480 x 800 pixels and runs on Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich operating system. The device is priced slightly higher than the newly launched Lava Xolo A700.
In comparison, Karbonn A21sports a 4.5-inch HD display with 480×800 pixels. The device runs on Android 4.0 operating system and is powered by a 1.2 GHz dual-core Snapdragon processor. Karbonn A21 is price at ₹11,990.
