Benelli, the Italian superbike maker, has launched its popular superbike the TNT 600i with ABS in India. The TNT600i now gets optional ABS at a price point of Rs. 6.53 lakh (on-road, Pune). DSK Benelli, Indo-Italian sports-bike brand, is expected to roll out ABS variant of its entire range in India in a phased manner.
Besides the addition of ABS, the new variant of the TNT 600i is just the same as the regular model. It continues to be powered by a 600cc, four-stroke and liquid-cooled engine that is tuned to generate 80.5bhp of power at 11,500rpm and a peak torque of 54.6Nm at 10,500rpm. The model, which is brought to Indian as CKD (completely knock down units), is assembled at DSK Motowheels' facility at Wai.
According to a report of ShiftingGears, the Benelli TNT 600i ABS is likely to be at the showrooms by the end of this week. DSK Benelli, which is currently in expansion mode, is planning to open 35 showrooms by the end of this year in the country. The company currently has 17 showrooms in India including the Coimbatore one.
The Italian bike maker currently has six models in its India-portfolio –TNT 25, TNT 300, TNT 600i, TNT 600 GT, TNT 899 and TNT R 1130 -- with prices ranging from Rs 1.68 lakh to Rs 11.81 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). The company, which entered the India market in March last year, sells its bikes through its Indian partner, DSK Motowheels.
DSK Benelli, which had unveiled four bikes at the Auto Expo 2016 in February — the TNT Naked T-135, BX 250, Tornado 300 and the TRK 502-- is also expected to launch these models in India in the coming months.
