Italian motorcycle brand Benelli unveiled its fully faired sportsbike, the Tornado 302, at the 2015 EICMA show held at Milan from 17 November. The latest report in the internet suggests its India entry is not far and the motorcycle will be launched at the 2016 Auto Expo in February.

Though there is no confirmation from the DSK Benelli, Indian arm of the brand, the youngest member of the Tornado family will make it to India soon reports Oncars.in.

Powering the Tornado 302 is an in-line two cylinder 4-stroke 4-valve DOHC engine, producing 36bhp at 12000rpm and 27Nm at 9000 rpm. The engine is mated to a six-speed transmission. The engine reportedly powers the motorcycle to attain over 170kmph top speed.

Built on trestle frame, the Tornado 302 features 41mm upside down forks at front and mono suspension at rear. The motorcycle also comes with 14-litre fuel tank capacity. The 17-inch front wheel in aluminum alloy mounts 110/70 spec tyres at front and 150/60 spec tires at rear. The Tornado 302 uses twin 260mm floating discs with a 4-piston caliper brake at the front and a single 240mm disc with a single piston caliper brake for the rear. The motorcycle measures 2,175mm in length, 746mm in width, 1,146mm in height and scales 180kg of weight.

Benelli Tornado 302 essentially is the fully faired sibling of the TNT 300, which the company is selling in India. Both the motorcycles share most of the cycle parts and engine. Hence, bringing the Tornado 302 to India would be easier to DSK Benelli.
