Motorola launched its flagship Moto X Style and Play series smartphones around a month ago, and now the company is reportedly planning to launch another marquee device by the end of the year.
Twitter spy OnLeaks has posted the promotional image and specifications of the Motorola Bounce, understood to be the second generation Droid Turbo.
In the photo, we see the device's rear side with a trademark silver strip featuring camera module with LED flash (below), which extends to the middle culminating with Motorola's trademark batwing logo, identical to the 2015 series Moto G and Moto X devices. It also features textured (with diamond shaped strips) back panel.
At the front, we see the camera on the top-right corner with a sensor. There are a couple of sensors at the bottom as well.
OnLeaks says that the upcoming phone will boast 5.43-inch QHD (aka 2K: 2560x1440p)-based shatterproof display and inside, it is said to come equipped with Qualcomm Snapdragon (MSM8994) 810 SoC (System on Chip) backed by 3GB RAM, 32GB/64GB inbuilt storage and a massive 3760 mAh battery.
It is also expected to get a 21mp camera on the rear side and a 5mp snapper at the front.
Going by the leaked specification-list, new Motorola Bounce has no major upgrade over the Verizon-exclusive Droid Turbo. Apart from the new generation Snapdragon 810 series CPU and 5mp front snapper, all other features like rear-side camera and RAM capacity remain same and interestingly, the battery capacity has been reduced to 3760 mAh from 3900 mAh of the 2014 model.
Although there is no proof to validate the details revealed by the Twitter sensation, OnLeaks, we still believe these features might turn out to be true because lately, all other major smartphone makers have been reducing the battery capacity in their 2015 flagship phones. For instance, Samsung's new Galaxy S6 series and Note 5 have less battery capacity as compared to 2014 models. Even the soon-to-be released iPhone 6S series' battery capacity has been trimmed. This seems to be the result of the company's plan of making the flagship phones slim and sleeker.
Motorola Bounce aka Droid Turbo 2 is expected to be unveiled in December and probably hit stores in the US first as an Verizon Wireless exclusive and later arrive in other developing markets as Moto Maxx 2 (in Brazil)/ Moto Turbo 2 (in India) series.
