Drinking Solo finale has left no room for another instalment, but the fans of Ha Seok-jin, Park Ha-sun and Shinee member Key a.k.a Kim Ki-bum are twiddling their thumbs in anticipation of season 2.
The tvN mini-series, which revolved around the lives of staff and students of a coaching institute called Noryangjin, concluded the story by featuring a happy ending for all the characters, except Gong-myung. So the only thread for a new instalment is to bring in a new set of civil service students to the institute and focus on their lives.
However, the period drama's poor television ratings indicate that tvN might not consider it for another instalment. The show began with 3.2 percent ratings and during its 16-episode run, it only managed to garner an average of 4.5 percent television ratings.
Although the mini-series was lacking in its plot-twists and cliffhangers, the cast members managed to keep the viewers clued on to the screens with their acting skills.
Recently, lead actor Ha Suk Jin appreciated his co-stars for their passion and acting. "I was so surprised and even envious because they're such good actors," he said. The 34-year-old even stated that if he had the same passion and dedication when he started-off his acting career he could have become a better actor now.
"Gong Myung, Key, and Kim Dong Young made me wonder where they've come from. They showed a lot of potential through this drama, and they are actors to look forward to," AllKpop quoted the actor as saying.
