Actress Drew Barrymore and her husband Will Kopelman turned proud parents last week by welcoming their first child, a baby girl, and they have named her Olive Barrymore Kopelman.
The "Charlie's Angels" actress gave birth to her first child three months after tying the knot with art consultant Will Kopelman. It is reported that Will, who is a keen photographer, will take the first pictures of his daughter instead of letting magazines do it.
The couple announced the birth of their first child in a statement and thanked everyone for respecting their privacy.
"We are proud to announce the birth of our daughter, Olive Barrymore Kopelman, born Sept. 26th, healthy, happy and welcomed by the whole family. Thank you for respecting our privacy during this most special time in our lives," said the couple in a statement.
The 37-year-old actress got engaged to Will Kopelman in January 2012 after dating him for over a year and they married in a Jewish ceremony on June 2, 2012 in Montecito, California before going for a romantic honeymoon. They were keen to walk down the aisle before the baby was born.
Drew Barrymore, who had married twice in the past - to bar owner Jeremy Thomas and Canadian comedian Tom Green, had earlier expressed her desire to start a family saying that she could not wait to have her own children and revealed her preference for a baby girl.
She must be on cloud nine now, as she has got what she wanted - a baby girl!
