Kim Ji Han a.k.a Jin Yi Han, a South Korean actor popularly known for his role as Hong Young-hwi in MBC sitcom Dr Jin, will be playing the lead role in upcoming medical drama Golden Pouch.
The 37-year-old actor will portray the life of a genius surgeon named Kim Ji Han, whose life turns upside down after a tragic incident. While he works with all his heart to regain his professional status, he meets a young paediatrician.
The female lead of Golden Pouch will be played by actress Ryu Hyoyoung of Family Secrets fame. Her character is described as an uncompromising and determined person, who eventually falls in love with Ji Han's character.
Other Korean celebrities to appear in the upcoming MBC drama include actor Lee Sun-Ho of Doctors fame and actress Hong Sung-mi a.k.a Dana of The Three Musketeers fame. Both the characters will be connected to Hyoyoung's character, according to Soompi.
The 30-year-old Nonstop 3 actress will be portraying the eldest sister of the female lead. Her character is briefed as a carefree person with no tension in life.
On the other hand, the 35-year-old Midas star will play the role of an eldest son of a chairman, who has a romantic interest for Hyoyoung's character.
Golden Pouch is expected to have 120 episodes and it is scheduled to premiere on MBC in November. It will be aired weekly five days a week from Monday to Friday at 8.55 pm KST.
