After his demise, the RWITC decided to keep his love for horses and racing alive and that's how the Dr. Jagjit Singh Tribute Million Horse race came to be.
This year the race witnessed 14 participants. The horse King Khalil with rider Yash Nareddu won the race in a nail biting finish. Mrs. Blanche Saldhana and Mr. Vivek Jain are the owners of the winning stallion.
The winners were felicitated by Mrs. Amruta Fadnavis, patron of the arts and wife of Mr. Devendra Fadnavis, Chief Minister of Maharasthra and Armaan Chowdhury, grandson of late Jagjit Singh.
The event has been a long-standing fixture in the horse racing world.
A nostalgic Armaan fondly remembered his earliest memories at the race course - "I was introduced to this sport at the age of 5 by my grandfather when he gifted me my first horse. Since then I have always had a special attachment to this sport. I am touched by this gesture from the RWITC. Congratulations to Mrs Saldhana and Vivek Uncle"
