'Don't Give it to a Russian': Ukrainian Women Start Hilarious Campaign to Deny Sex to Russian Men after Sanctions Threat Fails [PHOTOS]

As the sanctions slapped on Russia by the Western world to stop the latter's annexation of Crimea has, on all counts, failed, Ukrainian women have now taken up the task of punishing Russia.

A 'creative' boycott has begun in Ukraine after some women came up with a new campaign called "Don't give it to a Russian" - a hilarious sex embargo against Russian men.

The campaign, which has taken the internet by a storm, seems to entail wearing a t-shirt carrying its logo: two hands clasped together, creating a shape (which men would know well!)

There is also a slogan: "Don't give it to a Russian!" that often comes along with a line from Ukrainian poet Taras Shevchenko's 1838 poem "Kateryna" which reads: "Oh lovely maidens, fall in love, but not with the Moskaly (the Russians)".

On Sunday, Russian internet users began circulating a photograph of opposition figure Valeriya Novodvorskaya wearing the t-shirt, Global Voices notes.

Novodvorskaya, who is well known for strange appearances and promoting several conspiracy theories, is Russian. But the photograph that circulated online was photoshopped to make it look like she is wearing a t-shirt with the slogan, the report said.

However, several people believed that the Russian oppositionist joined the sex boycott. For instance, Russian parliament member Robert Shlegel tweeted the image saying: "With one photo, Valeriya Novodvorskaya has killed the entire Ukrainian sex-boycott at its core".

The sex boycott campaign, however, has received quite a stir on the internet. There is now Facebook page dedicated to the campaign, and the photographs of women wearing the t-shirt, along withe the campaign itself, have gone viral among internet users.
