Sonam Kapoor's "Dolly Ki Doli" has witnessed a steep fall in its numbers at the Indian box office on Tuesday. The film may not cross ₹20 crore in the domestic market in the first week.
"Dolly Ki Doli" featuring Sonam Kapoor, Pulkit Samrat, Rajkummar Rao and Varun Sharma in the leads, is one of the highly promoted Bollywood movies. Released on 23 January, the film opened to an average response, but it showed decent growth on the following days. The romantic comedy flick collected ₹10.75 crore nett at the Indian box office in the first weekend.
Since 26 January was a National Holiday, "Dolly Ki Doli" kept the bells ringing at the ticket counters. The movie did not show much drop in its business, when compared to its collection on Sunday. The film raked in ₹4.54 crore nett at the Indian box office, taking its four-day domestic total to ₹15.29 crore nett.
"Dolly Ki Doli" had steep fall on Tuesday as it was a working day for everyone. The film dropped more than 65%, when compared to its collection on Monday. On its fifth day, the movie collected ₹1.52 crore nett at the Indian box office and its five-day domestic total stands at ₹16.81 crore.
Made on budget of ₹25 crore, "Dolly Ki Doli" has already recovered over 70% of its production cost in five days. The film is expected to rake in over ₹3 crore nett in the next two days, taking its first week domestic total closer to the mark of ₹20 crore.
In its second week, "Dolly Ki Doli" will clash with much-hyped movies like "Hawaizaada", "Khamoshiyan" and "Rahasya", which will release in theatres on 30 January. The Sonam Kapoor starrer is expected to earn the remaining production cost and a small amount of profit share in its second week.
