Varun Dhawan has reportedly decided not to do two-hero movies anymore and the reason apparently is his "not-too-happy" experience of working with Shah Rukh Khan in "Dilwale."
It has been reported that after "Dishoom," which features Varun and John Abraham together, the "Badlapur" actor will do only solo films.
"Varun feels he has the confidence to a carry a film on his own shoulders. 'Humpty Sharma ki Dulhania,' 'Badlapur' and 'ABCD 2' were hits without another hero to support Varun," SKJ Bollywood News quoted a source as saying.
"Varun was most excited about 'Dilwale.' He got a chance to work with one of his childhood idols. But the experience was far from satisfying. Now Varun won't do multiple-hero films at all," the source added.
"Dilwale" was one of the most awaited flicks, but it could not stand up to the expectations, both critically as well as commercially. Earlier, there were reports that Kajol was also not happy being a part of "Dilwale" after the film did not receive the expected response.
It was reported that Sujoy Ghosh had approached Kajol for the movie, "Durga Rani Singh," but the actress had chosen Shah Rukh's "Dilwale" as her comeback movie. The reports had suggested that Kajol later regretted missing on Sujoy Ghosh's project. However, a source close to the actress later told International Business Times India that Kajol did the film for his friend SRK and she would never regret that.
While Varun's upcoming movie "Dishoom," directed by his brother Rohit Dhwan, is set to be released on July 29, the actor has recently wrapped up the first schedule of his other upcoming film "Badrinath Ki Dulhania." It is the sequel of "Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania" and will feature Alia Bhatt again with the actor.
