A trip to Nandi Hills proved fatal for a Bengaluru doctor after his superbike crashed into a divider near Byatarayanapura signal on Ballari Road elevated expressway. The 27-year-old man died on the spot in the accident, which took place on Sunday morning (July 29).
Victim dies despite wearing helmet
Mohammed Nishad, the victim, was a resident of Adugodi. He worked as a doctor in a private hospital in Hoskote and was a part of a club of city bikers. The members of the club own Triumph bikes and Nishad owned a Triumph Daytona bike.
On Sunday morning, Nishad and a few of his friends were on the way to Nandi Hills, a popular tourist spot located 60 kms away from Bengaluru, when the accident occurred.
The 27-year-old had reached the Byatarayanapura flyover at around 7:20 am when he lost the balance of his high-end sports bike. The two-wheeler crashed into the median on the flyover and he fell on the road.
The helmet did not save the victim. He sustained grave injuries on his head and died on the spot.
Another biker named Naveed also lost his balance and fell after Nishad met with the accident.
"A group of around 14-15 bikers from the club was going to Nandi Hills through Devanahalli. After we learnt about the incident, we rushed to the spot to find only two bikers at the spot. The rest had gone ahead as they were not aware of the accident," Bangalore Mirror quoted a police officer as saying.
Nishad was rushed to a hospital but was declared brought dead. Preliminary investigations have revealed that the victim had recently bought the bike at Rs 13 lakh. He was riding the bike at a speed of 120 km/hr and lost his balance.
The victim is survived by his parents and an older brother.
