Telugu film producer Daggubati Ramanaidu (D Rama Naidu) passed away in Hyderabad on Wednesday, 18 February, after a long battle with cancer. He was 78. Many Telugu filmmakers were spotted at the funeral to pay their tribute to the veteran.
Dasari Narayana Rao (DNR), Allu Arvind, Bandla Ganesh, Dil Raju, BVSN Prasad, Dasari Narayana Rao, Narayana Murthy, Madala Ravi, Sachin Joshi, Tammareddy Bharadwaja and many other producers and directors visited D Rama Naidu's funeral.
Various celebs from the Indian film industry expressed their condolences on social media as well. Kamal Haasan, Asin, Ram Pothineni, Sanjjanaa Galrani, Taapsee Pannu, Trisha Krishnan, Priyamani, Samantha, Raveena Tandon were among the stars who posted on social media remembering the producer.
For the past few months, Naidu - who was battling prostrate cancer - was undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Hyderabad.
The legend multilingual film producer has produced more than 150 films in 13 languages. He also holds the Guinness Book of World Records for 'most number of films produced by an individual'.
For his contribution to the Kollywood industry, he received Dada Saheb Phalke Lifetime Achievement Award in 2009 and was also awarded the Padma Bhushan in 2012.
He is survived by two sons and a daughter: producer Suresh Babu, actor Venkatesh Daggubati and Daggubati Lakshmi.
