Djamaa el Djazair: Inside Algerias $1.5 billion dollar mosque
The Djamaa el Djazair in Algeria is set to open December 2016 after construction started on the $1.5 billion dollar mosque in 2011. It will be one of the third largest mosque on the planet and boasts the tallest minaret in the world, complete with a one million book library, a museum and a 120,000 capacity prayer hall.
