The entire Rathi family on Star Plus' "Diya Aur Baati Hum" is gearing up to celebrate the festival of colours, Holi, with an award ceremony where deserving police officers will be honoured. Sandhya Rathi (Deepika Singh), an IPS officer, will be among the officers to be felicitated at the event.
Popular television couple Gurmeet Choudhary and Debina Bonnerjee will make a special appearance on the show. The couple will be seen performing to "Aarambh Hai Prachand" from the film "Gulaal" at the ceremony.
"The show has been doing really well for quite some time now and it felt really nice to associate with a show that has viewers stuck to its gripping story line time and again," Gurmeet was quoted by IANS as saying in a statement.
"Debina and I enjoy dancing and just the way entire premise of the track on the show was serious and thrilling, our performance and song was in complete tangent with it. All in all, we had a good time," he added.
It was reported earlier that amidst the celebrations, Gul (Deepraj Rana) would plan to kill the police officers by setting the entire stage of the event on fire. "Gul will plan to set the entire stage of the event on fire, thus creating a chaos in the award ceremony. Since the event will be held to reward the best of officers, he would use this as an opportunity to kill many able officers under one roof. Also with them being accompanied by their families, Gul's idea will be to kill all, [sic]" a source had told Tellychakkar.com.
The report further said viewers would witness the connection between Gul and Arzoo (Prachi Tehlan), the Pakistani girl, who entered the Rathi family as a bride after the incident.
