Television actor Anas Rashid, who plays the lead role of Sooraj on "Diya Aur Baati Hum," seems to be causing trouble to the makers as well as the cast of the show. According to reports, the actor has been throwing a lot of starry tantrums of late.
Anas is apparently always late for the shoot and keeps the cast and crew waiting for him for long hours. This attitude of the actor has also affected his co-stars, who have now started demanding to be called for the shoot only after Anas arrives on the sets, India Forums reported.
According to recent reports, the makers were quite upset with the tantrums shown by the lead stars, Deepika Singh (Sandhya) and Anas, who were reportedly not on good terms with each other. However, Shashi Mittal, the producer of the show, had refuted the reports of the lead pair throwing tantrums. "It's like a family. There is nobody who is throwing tantrums," she had told the Times of India.
Last year, the on-screen couple, Deepika and Anas, made headlines when the actress slapped Anas for his alleged inappropriate behaviour. The issue was resolved only after the Cine & TV Artistes' Association (CINTAA) intervened in the matter.
In another news, rumour has it that "Diya Aur Baati Hum" may go off air soon. Although the daily soap, with its unique concept, storyline and the powerful performances by the cast, was scoring high in the Television Rating Points (TRPs) since its inception, it has been experiencing a drastic fall in the ratings for the past few months. The constant drop in the rating points is apparently forcing the makers to consider the idea of bringing down the curtains.
