Sony TV's historical show "Bharat Ka Veer Putra – Maharana Pratap" starring Divyanka Tripathi's ex-boyfriend Ssharad Malhotra is coming to an end.
The historical show, which started with Faisal Khan playing the role of younger Maharana Pratap, has been airing for two and a half years, but reports suggest that the channel has pulled down the show and the last episode will be aired on 4 December.
"The decision has been notified to the cast and crew of the show. There is a feeling of disappointment amongst the actors, with many of them getting emotional on sets," a source told Tellychakkar.com.
A few actors from the show confirmed the news of "Maharana Pratap" going off air on condition of anonymity.
The show started with child artists Faisal, Rajshree Thakur, Shakti Anand and Aashka Goradia. Later, Ssharad, Vindhya Tiwari and Rachana Parulkar played the lead characters.
"There was a talk of an extension earlier. But with the channel taking the decision of ending the popular historical, the creative team is now shortening tracks to get to the culmination," the source further told the entertainment portal.
Meanwhile, lead actors Ssharad and Rachana were in news for their alleged affair.
However, both Rachana and Ssharad rubbished the reports.
"Being an actor, I take such news with a pinch of salt and move on. Today, I am linked up with my co-star, tomorrow with someone else and this journey goes on. The only important thing in my life is my parents. They know me very well and I try to keep them happy. The more they are happy, my world is happier," he told Daily Bhaskar in an interview.
