"Meri Aashiqui Tumse Hi" lost its sheen long ago, which is why it will soon go off-air, subsequently making way for a new show. Divyanka Tripathi's ex-boyfriend Ssharad Malhotra has bagged a lead in Ekta Kapoor's "Kasam".
"It's an intense love story, in which Ssharad's character will initially shown to be a Casanova. He will play a business tycoon who takes up boxing as a hobby to impress girls," a source told The Times of India. Although he hasn't confirmed the development, buzz is he has had to compete with his peers for the role.
Karan Tacker, Sidharth Shukla, Kunal Karan Kapoor and Nandish Sandhu are four other actors who were approached for the show. But Malhotra nailed the look test and managed to impress the makers with his acting chops, Bollywood Life reported.
"Kasam" will revolve around the Canada-return Bedi family and their son, who falls in love with a girl only to lose her soon after. The incident impacts his views on the matters of heart and the story takes off from there.
"Balaji Telefilms' upcoming show on Colors will be based on Punjabi backdrop. The story will revolve around the filthy rich 'Canada return' Bedi family. Their elder son falls in love with a girl but soon tragedy strikes his love life, which makes him lose faith in love," India-Forums quoted a source as saying.
In other news, Ishani (Radhika Madan) and Ranveer's (Shakti Arora) love story in "MATSH" will apparently come to an end on 26 February.
