Various rumours were doing the rounds suggesting that director Shankar will be working with Ajith for his next project after "Ai."
However, the director has confirmed that he has not signed Ajith for his next project when a fan questioned him on his official Facebook page.
The director is currently busy with the post-production works of Vikram's "Ai." The film is one of the most-awaited projects of 2014. The big budget film, produced by AM Ratnam, has been in the making for more than a year. Fans are eagerly waiting for the film's first look teaser, which is expected to be released soon. The romantic action thriller might release for Diwali this October, according to some reports.
Shankar is expected to announce his next project after completing "Ai." There are also speculations that the "Endhiran" director will direct the film's sequel with Rajinikanth in the lead role. However, there is no official confirmation in this regard.
On the other hand, Ajith is currently busy with his project "Thala 55," (as it is Ajith's 55th film) directed by Gautham Menon. The film's shooting is currently progressing at a brisk pace and is expected to be wrapped up soon.
Anushka Shetty, Trisha Krishnan, Arun Vijay, Vivek, Thalaivasal Vijay are playing important roles in the film. The music for "Thala 55" is composed by Harris Jayaraj, while cinematography is handled by Dan MacArthur. The film's team is yet to reveal its title and the first look teaser is expected to be released this month.
The film, touted to be an action thriller, is expected to hit the screens in November. There is also buzz that the film will be released for Pongal 2015. However, there is no official confirmation on the exact release date.
After completing "Thala 55," Ajith is likely to team up with director "Siruthai" Siva. The actor-director duo has worked together for the mass entertainer "Veeram," which hit the screens on January 2014. It will be interesting to see them working together again for the second time.
