Director Ram Gopal Varma, who is known for his controversial statements has once again landed himself in trouble. This time the "Sarkar" director has mocked Lord Ganesha.
Varma's sensitive statements on Twitter has irked many people across the nation, especially during the ocassion when devotees were offering their prayers and celebrating one of the biggest festivals of India - Ganesh Chaturthi.
"The guy who couldn't save his own head from being cut, how he will save others heads is my question? But Happy Ganpathi day to morons!" Varma tweeted.
However, the post has been deleted from his account after it sparked rife.
Varma later went on with a string of posts regarding Ganesh and the basis of celebrating the festival.
Can someone tell me if today is the day Ganesha was originally born or is it the day his dad cut his head off?

"All concerned pls undrstand tht my questions nd observations on Ganesha are coming from both my innocence nd ignorance on the subject matter" he further tweeted.
"His comments at this time are intentional and merit criminal action against him. This is a cheap and dirty way to be in the news. This will create social disharmony," IBN Live quoted Prem Shukla of the Shiv Sena as he described Varma's posts are an insult to the Maharastrians celebrating the festival.
While Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) member Shaina NC described the comments as "blasphemous and insensitive", former MP of Congress from Mumbai, Sanjay Nirupam demanded legal action against the director-producer for violating the law of the land.
While, the director of "Satya", "Shool" and "Rangeela" faced criticism, he went on for another tweet: "All tweets I put on Ganesha were in my usual manner but unintended by me to hurt anyone's sentiments...but if they did, I sincerely apologize."
