Renowned director Mani Ratnam was hospitalised in Chennai after he complained of chest pain on Thursday.
The 62-year-old film-maker's condition is now stated to be stable. The doctors have kept him under vigilance.
Reports also stated that popular actors and film-makers from the southern film industry have been visiting Mani in hospital. However, his PRO claimed that Mani visited the hospital for a routine check-up, according to DNA.
This is not the first time that the National Award-winning director has faced chest issues. He had reportedly survived a heart attack in 2004 when he was directing the film Yuva.
Mani also faced heart problems and chest pain twice – once in 2009 and then in 2015.
The director recently completed shooting for Chekka Chivantha Vaanamstarring. His last film was Kaatru Veliyidai.
