The first-look poster of the upcoming Malayalam movie, "Welcome to Central Jail," was unveiled by actor Dileep on his Facebook page on Monday, Aug. 22. The colourful poster features four people wearing the number '10' jersey of legendary sportsmen Sachin Tendulkar, Diego Maradona, Lionel Messi and Pelé, while Dileep is seen in the uniform of a jail inmate, holding a board on which the number '10' is written.
The Sundardas-directed comedy entertainer, set in the backdrop of Poojapura Central Jail in Thiruvananthapuram, is the fifth outing of the actor-director duo, after the hit movies "Sallapam," "Kudamattam," "Varnakazhchakal" and "Kuberan." The duo is joining hands together for the upcoming movie after a gap of 13 years. The film stars Vedhika opposite the janapriyanayakan. It is the actress' second movie with Dileep, after her debut Malayalam movie, "Sringaravelan" in 2013.
"Welcome to Central Jail," which went on floors in Kochi on April 2, also stars Renji Panicker, Aju Varghese, Suraj Venjaramoodu, Mohan Jose, Kalabhavan Haneef, Kailash, Thesni Khan and Veena Nair in significant roles. Scripted by Benny P Nayarambalam, the movie narrates incidents that happen in the lives of some prisoners.
The Dileep-starrer is set to hit the screens as an Onam release. It will lock horns with Mohanlal's "Oppam," Prithviraj Sukumaran's "Oozham," Kunchacko Boban's "Kochavva Paulo Ayyappa Coelho" and Vineeth Sreenivasan's "Oru Muthassi Gadha" at the Kerala box office.
