The trailer of Dileep's much-awaited film "Avatharam" is released and is assuring to be a quintessential mass entertainer with a lot of action, punch dialogues, music and dance. In the film, directed by Joshiy, Dileep will be seen as the protagonist Madhavan, a villager who moves to the city.
"Avatharam" is apparently a high budget film and is set in the backdrop of the underworld in Kochi. The film deals with Madhavan's attempts to adjust to his life in Kochi and the problems faced by him.
Lakshmi Menon plays the character of Manimegha, who is an employee of an insurance company. This is a comeback film for Lakshmi in Malayalam. She was spotted in a dance program by director Vinayan before casting her in the Malayalam film "Raghuvinte Swantham Raziya" in 2011. She later went on to do "Ideal Couple" in 2012, which failed to make a mark in the industry.
Lakshmi's career took a turn when she signed the Tamil film "Sundharapandian" directed by S.R Prabhakaran. Her performance in the film won her many accolades, including the Filmfare Award for best debut, Vekatan Award for best debut, Chennai Times Film Awards for promising newcomer, SIIMA Award for the best female debutant and Norway Tamil Film Festival Award for the Best Actress. She later went on to do noticeable films like "Kumki", "Kutti Puli", "Pandinaadu", "Naan Singappu Manithan" and "Manjapai". The actress is also awaiting the release of "Jigarthanda" directed by Karthik Subbaraj in which she plays the character of Kanamma, an idly seller, who is the love interest of Siddharth. The film is expected to release for Ramzan.
Dileep is expected to repeat the success of "Ring Master" with this new flick. Dileep-Joshiy combination has always managed to bring big hits in the box office. This is the seventh time the actor is joining hands with the director. Their earlier films together were "Sainyam", "Runway", "Lion", "July 4", the multi-starrer Twenty Twenty" and "Christian Brothers."
Meanwhile, Joshiy's last film "Salaam Kashmir" starring Suresh Gopi and Jayaram failed to make a mark in the industry. After the release of "Avatharam," the director will be working for his next flick "Lailaa O Lailaa" starring Mohanlal and Amala Paul.
"Avatharam" has a huge star cast of Kalabhavan Shajon, Joy Mathew, Prem Prakash, Nandu Pothuval, Devan, Shammi Thilakan, Vinaya Prasad, Mithun Ramesh, Babu Namboothiri and Baby Drishya.
This action thriller is scripted by Vyasan Edavanakkad and the cinematography is handled by R.D.Rajashekaran. Editing is done by Shyam Sasidharan, music is composed by Deepak Dev and lyrics are penned by Rafeeq Ahmad.
"Avatharam" is produced by Siby K. Thomas, Udaykrishna and Vyasan Edavanakkad under the banner of Four B Productions and is expected to hit theatres in time for Ramzan.
