Set to release on 1 August, Dileep's new film "Avatharam" is expected to be a mass entertainer. The film, directed by Joshiy is touted to be an action thriller. It is also said to have all elements of Dileep film, including action, comedy, punch dialogues, dance and music. Lakshmi Menon will play the lead opposite Dileep.
The plot of the film revolves around the life of Madhavan, who is from the hilly regions of Idukki. His simple life takes a turn with the sudden death of his elder brother, who is a customs officer. As a result, Madhavan has to take care his brother's wife and their young daughter.
Soon Madhavan learns that his brother's death is not an accidental death, but has lots of conspiracy surrounding it. He moves to Kochi to find the truth about his brother's demise. The more he gets to know, the more he gets involved in a web of troubles.
Lakshmi plays the character of Manimegha, who is the love interest of Madhavan and works as an insurance company employee.
Dileep's last film "Ring Master" was a mass entertainer and was a huge box office success. This is the seventh time Dileep-Joshiy combination is getting ready for a release. Their earlier ventures were "Sainyam", "Runway", "Lion", "July 4", the multi-starrer "Twenty Twenty" and "Christian Brothers."
The two songs of the film featuring Dileep and Lakshmi are already released and are in the list of popular songs. Both are romantic numbers and are penned by Kaithapram Damodaran Namboothiri.
"Avatharam" also had its share of controversies when the trailer background score matched with the teaser background score of the Telugu flick "Aagadu" starring Mahesh Babu. The team later announced that the released trailer is a dummy video and soon came up with the original trailer with a background score by Deepak Dev.
"Avatharam" has a huge star cast of Kalabhavan Shajon, Joy Mathew, Prem Prakash, Nandu Pothuval, Devan, Shammi Thilakan, Vinaya Prasad, Mithun Ramesh, Babu Namboothiri and Baby Drishya.
The action thriller is scripted by Vyasan Edavanakkad and the cinematography is handled by RD Rajashekaran. Editing is done by Shyam Sasidharan, and the music is composed by Deepak Dev.
"Avatharam" is produced by Siby K Thomas, Udaykrishna and Vyasan Edavanakkad under the banner of Four B Productions.
