After becoming the highest grossing Malayalam movie of 2016 in Kerala, Dileep's comedy entertainer "King Liar" is poised to rock the box offices outside the state from Friday, May 6. The Siddique-Lal movie will be released outside Kerala by Carnival Motion Pictures.
"Carnival Motion Pictures brings to you King Liar - the super hit‪#‎Malayalam‬ comedy film written by Siddique-Lal and directed by Lal starring superstar Dileep and Madonna Sebastian in the lead roles, all set to release outside Kerala on 06 May, 2016 at a theatre near you [sic]," the production house posted on its Facebook page.
"King Liar" is said to have raked in a gross collection of Rs. 16.82 crore with a net amount of Rs. 13.56 crore within 27 days of its release in Kerala. "#KingLiar 27 day Kerala Gross 16.82Cr ! Net 13.56Cr ! Highest Kerala Grosser of 2016 as of now [sic]," tweeted Kerala BoxOffice.
The film reportedly did tremendous business on its opening day by earning a gross amount of Rs. 1.52 crore at the Kerala box office.
The comedy entertainer, which was opened to a mixed response from audience upon its release on April 2, marks the reunion of successful director duo Siddique and Lal. "Premam"-fame Madonna Sebastian pairs opposite Dileep in the movie, which narrates the story of a liar. It is the production venture of Ousepachan Valakuzhy under the banner of Ousepachan Movie House. "King Liar" also has Lal, Asha Sarath, Siddique, Joy Mathew, Balu Varghese, Shivaji Guruvayoor, Natasha Suri and Balachandran Chullikkad in important roles.
