The hype around Zoya Akhtar's "Dil Dhadakne Do" is phenomenal, and there are good reasons for this.
While the film is slated to be released on 5 June, Farhan Akhtar confirmed on Twitter that the trailer will be out on 15 April. "Dil Dhadakne Do trailer breaks on 15th of April.. Whattefun..!! @DDDTheFilm," he posted.
Interestingly, unlike other films, this one didn't fall prey to leaked photos except for a series of images in which Priyanka Chopra and Anushka Sharma are seen dressed in retro fashion.
It is reportedly an 80s-themed shoot sequence, later lit up by Ranveer Singh, Farhan Akhtar and Anil Kapoor's presence. Titled "Swing", the song apparently features the "NH10" actress flaunt her dance moves in her first-ever item number.
While most makers would just let such an instance slide by, director Zoya didn't appreciate the photos going viral online.
"When Zoya got to know about this, she hit the panic button. She immediately started inquiring all those who visited the studio in the past month. They held a series of inquiries because they could not pin-point someone. She also could not sum up on what all must have been captured and shared. While the chaos and tension was mounting, Zoya immediately asked for the security to be ramped up," Koimoi quoted a source as saying.
The filmmaker is keeping the post-production work tight and has even refrained from showing the trailer to her close friends.
"The curiosity regarding her new film is even higher due to her last hit. Plus, once again, this one too has a huge star cast. So, that has also added to the level of excitement," a source close to Zoya told Hindustan Times.
"Dil Dhadakne Do" is about a dysfunctional Punjabi family on a cruise ship.
