Zoya Akhtar's directorial film "Dil Dhadakne Do" (DDD) comes at a time when box office is earning decent amounts from Bollywood films and thus, expectations are high from the latest release as well.
"Dil Dhadakne Do" has garnered positive social media buzz and Bollywood celebrities have also showered praises on the film. The all-round hype predicts that the film will have a good opening day at the box office.
Even box office analysts expect the film to have a ₹10+ crore opening day collection. Trade analysts also believe that "Dil Dhadakne Do" has all the potential to perform well at the box office and continue the winning streak at ticket counters.
"DDD is an extremely well-made film. I genuinely feel very few directors can tackle relationships with as much sensitivity as Zoya Akhtar," trade expert Taran Adarsh told Subhash K Jha.
Another trade expert Amod Mehra added that the buzz is fantastic and the film is expected to make approximately ₹60 crore in its first three days.
"Yes, DDD will definitely complete the hat trick. The buzz is fantastic and the opening will be big. I expect a Rs. 50-60 crores weekend," Mehra said.
Box office analyst Atul Mohan said that "DDD" will be a hat trick at the box office. "Piku" and "Tanu Weds Manu Returns" have been super-hits of 2015 and if "DDD" continues the box office success it will be a hat trick.
"The trade is hoping DDD would be a hit, and so am I. It looks so fresh and different that we expect it to complete a hat trick of out-of-the-box successes. It has beautiful locales, a stunning ensemble cast. The banner, the timing of release, the look are all perfect so far. Fingers crossed," Mohan added.
Not only that, trade analysts are expecting the film to beat the opening day box office collection of Akshay Kumar's "Gabbar Is Back", which is the highest of 2015. "Gabbar Is Back" first day box office income is pegged at ₹13 crore.
But it remains to be seen how the film opens on day one.
"Dil Dhadakne Do" directed by Zoya features Ranveer, Priyanka, Anushka Sharma, Anil Kapoor, Shefali Shah, Farhan Akhtar and Rahul Bose in lead roles.
