"Dil Dhadakne Do" starring Ranveer Singh and Priyanka Chopra as siblings opened with a bang at the box office, at least in the overseas market.
Zoya Akhtar's directorial film "Dil Dhadakne Do" (DDD) has taken a grand start at the UAE-GCC box office. The opening day box office collection of "Dil Dhadakne Do" from UAE-GCC market is approximately $225,000, which is higher than "Tanu Weds Manu Returns" first day income, according to Boxofficeindia.
Kanagana Ranaut and R Madhavan starrer "Tanu Weds Manu Returns" (TWMR) recorded the highest opening day total of 2015 i.e., approximately $150,000. However, "Dil Dhadakne Do" has shattered the records of "TWMR".
The trade websites also report that "Dil Dhadakne Do" might become the first film of 2015 to cross the $1 million mark in Gulf region this year.
Last year, Shah Rukh Khan's "Happy New Year", Hrithik Roshan's "Bang Bang" and Aamir Khan's "PK" touched $1 million mark in the Gulf region.
Meanwhile, the film has opened to mixed reviews in India but due to the hype it is expected to open on a good note.
Directed by Zoya, the film features an ensemble cast, including Anil Kapoor, Shefali Shah, Priyanka, Ranveer, Anushka Sharma, Farhan Akhtar and Rahul Bose in pivotal roles.
