The manhunt for Jed Allen has entered a second day, with over 100 officers currently searching for the man suspected of killing three people in Didcot.
Thames Valley Police has released CCTV images of Jed Allen, taken at the WHSmith store at Oxford railway station just before 6pm on 23 May - the same day the bodies of Janet Jordon, 48, her six-year-old daughter Derin, and partner Philip Howard, 44, were found at their home in Vicarage Road on the evening of 23 May.
All were pronounced dead by ambulance staff at the scene. Police launched a murder investigation the following day along with photos of Allen, 21, who is wanted in connection with the murders.
Police said post-mortems are due to be carried out on the three victims, and that the cause of death will not be officially established until they have been completed.
However, Detective Superintendent Chris Ward, head of the Thames Valley Police Major Crime Unit, told the Mirror that the likely cause of deaths is stab wounds.
Of the CCTV footage, he said: We believe that Jed boarded a train from Didcot to Oxford at 5.24pm and arrived in Oxford at 5.45pm. He was then captured on CCTV at the WHSmith store at Oxford railway station just before 6pm.
Jed is wearing a red or maroon shirt, a dark hooded jacket with a white trim on the zip, blue jeans and black shoes. After visiting WHSmith, we believe that Jed then walked to Oxford University Parks.
Jed is white, about 6ft, of stocky build, and has a distinctive tattoo of a spider on his left hand. If you see Jed please do not approach him, instead call 999 immediately.
We would urge anyone with any other information about the incident to contact us via 101 quoting a new reference number of 465 (24/5). Did you see or hear anything suspicious in Vicarage Road yesterday? If you did then we want to hear from you.
Ward also said the murder weapon has now been recovered from the address: I can confirm that what we believe to be the murder weapon was found at the scene of the murder in Vicarage Road, Didcot, he said.
Tyler Clarke, Allens cousin, urged him to hand himself into police. He told the Sun: No one can believe what has happened. The first thing I knew about it was when I saw it on the news. We just want to know why. But only Jed knows what has happened.
If we could send a message to Jed it would be, Give yourself up.
Ward urged anyone harbouring Allen to be aware this is a serious offence and that they should contact police immediately. Our search of Oxford University Parks continues today with more than 100 officers involved, including national specialist search officers who have now joined the search.
