But did you know that you can even watch Bahubali 2 for Rs 10? Yes! You read it right. You can experience Bahubali 2 for just Rs 10, if you are ready for some sacrifices.
For people in Tamil Nadu, watching a movie doesn't cost over Rs 120 as there exists a ticket capping at all the theatres, including multiplexes in the state. Not just that, a tenth of the seats in theatres are compulsorily sold at Rs 10. Did you hear that? And the sacrifice part - the seats that are sold for this low price would be the front rows. Still, it is far less than what people are forced to pay in many other cities. Interestingly, the total travel expense to Tamil Nadu from Kerala or Bangalore in a train or bus won't even cross Rs 400 for to and fro journey!
Meanwhile, recently reports had it that the Karnataka government will bring the movie ticket capping announced during the recent budget session to effect from May 1. However, according to latest buzz, the proposed cap will be effective from Thursday, a day before the grand release of Bahubali 2.
"#Karnatakastate Govt issues an emergency GO capping tkt prices at Rs.200 effective tomorrow.. In accordance with High court directive.. [sic]," industry tracker Ramesh Bala tweeted on Wednesday. However, no official confirmation has been made regarding the same.
It has to be noted that due to the delay in bringing ticket capping in Karnataka, one of the theatres in Bangalore has already made an opening day box office collection of Rs 30 lakh, even a week before the release of Bahubali 2. They had charged Rs 600, Rs 500 and Rs 400 for the tickets, which are otherwise sold for less than Rs 200.
