Sanjay Leela Bhansali dropped by Salman Khan's residence recently, which triggered news of they collaborating for a project. But the filmmaker reportedly visited the actor only with the purpose of catching up.
"This meeting had nothing to do with work. Sanjay is very fond of Salman and just wanted to meet and spend time with him, now that he has free time on his hand," an insider told DNA. Last year, Sanjay had said he was dying to work with the superstar, but wasn't sure how things would work out.
"I am dying to do a film with him. But the onus is on him and it all depends on him now," Sanjay had told the daily last year. There was a time when they shared great friendship, but it reportedly soured after the actor split with Aishwarya Rai Bachchan.
Meanwhile, both Salman and Sanjay are happy at having picked up prestigious trophies at the 63rd National Awards. While Salman sent a long congratulatory message to "Bajrangi Bhaijaan" director Kabir Khan, Sanjay threw a bash celebrating the achievement.
Sanjay was given the Best Director award for "Bajirao Mastani," while Salman's film "Bajrangi Bhaijaan" won in the Popular Film Providing Wholesome Entertainment category.
On the work front, Salman is gearing up for "Sultan," which arrives in theatres this Eid. He will be seen playing a wrestler from Haryana. The actor has been working hard on his physique and training with real fighters to understand their body language. Anushka Sharma, who plays his love interest in the film, has also meticulously prepped for her role.
