PeeCee was attending a press conference in Mumbai, when she was asked to say something on Akshay's national award row. Priyanka first dodged the question saying she was not in the country during the controversy, and hence she cannot say anything.
However, soon she said she has won three national awards. "Main toh America mein thi, toh mujhe kuch nehi pata," the Baywatch actress first said. Then she added, "Mujhe three awards mile, yeh mujhe pata hai".
While Priyanka had won three national awards till date, this is Akshay's first in 25 years of his career. Akshay and Priyanka were rumoured to be dating each other long back but their relationship had reportedly ended a decade ago. However, there was no confirmation on their dating rumours.
Earlier, the announcement of Akshay getting the national award for his performance in Rustom had garnered much criticism, as many had opined that Aamir Khan deserved the award more for his act in Dangal. It was even said that he had won the honour due to his close connection with the jury head Priyadarshan.
However, Akshay in his defence had said that he is ready to give away the award if people think he does not deserve one even after 25 years of his career. "I have been working in the film industry for the last 25 years and I have noticed that every time whoever wins a National Award, the debate starts on who deserves to win the award. I got it after 25 years. If you think I don't deserve it, you can take it away," Akshay had told a popular daily.
